The Armour of Light
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
(Romans 13:12) KJV
If you don’t understand mainstream science (SciPop) well enough to know that it’s not a threat to the Bible, and try to live a Christian life without the truth of the Bible, then you have no armor of light.
We’re not going to make the case that the armour of light is referring to a physical thing. That would require induction. We could make the case that water molecules in the air are splitting and Hydrogen atoms are fusing to produce light that forms an invisible barrier around us, but that’s what SciPop does: induce rationalizations to make it look like evidence fits THE NARRATIVE. This becomes the plot for an episode of Star Trek and then passes into the SciPop lore of peer review.
Awake Out of Sleep
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
(Romans 13:11) KJV
If we stay faithful to our stated goal of using deduction, what can we learn about the armor of light from the Biblical context and other similar passages? Let’s pick our way through this. Today’s featured verse comes from a paragraph that we should examine carefully.
Christianity has been asleep. It has been lulled to sleep by the incessant bleating from SciPop telling us about distant exoplanets that may be able to support human life. So much so, in fact, that it looks like sun worship in disguise. We call it Solianity. In the Trekkie mindset of SciPop even if we can’t fix planet Earth it will be fine, because by the time it can’t support us anymore we’ll have figured out faster than light travel, or teleports or something. We’ll just go to another planet and terraform it. No worries.
Hell is expanding folks. The Earth is melting from the inside out. The human population is about to be ravaged by famine, plague and war. The stars are going to fall to Earth. A lot of people are going to wake up on the other side of death and be horrified to find out that hell is a real place. What are you, Christian, doing about it?
Works of Darkness
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
(Romans 13:12) KJV
The night is far spent. Night is the name given to darkness caused by the obstruction of light. It’s not the absence of light. Night began at the end of the first day of creation. Night will be over at the establishment of the new heaven and new Earth.
We have to know what a work of darkness is before we can cast it off, so what’s a work of darkness? In our devotion for January 15th we deduced that truth is light, darkness is evil.
Deductive Reasoning, examples
- IF God can’t lie,
- THEN the Bible is true.
- IF the Bible is true,
- THEN Jesus Christ is the living embodiment of truth,
- AND the Holy Spirit is its agent at work in the world today.
- IF popular science (SciPop) is an inductive rationalization of our existence which has
- no creator,
- no need of a savior,
- no spiritual realm,
- and questions the historical validity of Jesus Christ,
- THEN SciPop isn’t truth.
- IF popular science (SciPop) is an inductive rationalization of our existence which has
That should establish the fact that SciPop and the truth are in opposition against one another. Let’s take it a little further:
Popular Science (SciPop) is Evil
- IF popular science (SciPop) isn’t the truth,
- AND the truth is light,
- THEN SciPop is darkness,
- AND darkness is evil.
It appears from this passage that casting off the works of darkness is part of how we put on the armour of light. We have to reject everything within SciPop which stands in opposition to the truth of the Bible.
- IF mainstream science (SciPop) is a work of darkness that we have to cast off,
- AND the act of doing this precedes,
- or is simultaneous with,
- putting on the armor of light,
- AND the act of doing this precedes,
- THEN what is the armor of light?
Armor is equipment used to conduct war. Obviously we’re in a war. The armor of light is what we need to defeat the works of darkness. If SciPop is a work of darkness, then the armor of light is the knowledge that SciPop is darkness. We have to understand SciPop in order to be able to cast it off. By understanding SciPop we can see that the Bible is truth, and that is our armor of light.
Walk Honestly
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
(Romans 13:13) KJV
So let’s say the penny drops and you get it. Now what? Do we become like the Luddites and go around smashing technology? Definitely not. Armour is not an offensive weapon. The armour allows us to defend against attacks. The attack is the constant deluge of propaganda promoting the SciPop narrative of godless existence.
Our intention is to use every piece of tech that God gave us to cause irreparable damage to the theoretical foundation of SciPop. This is the Donkey’s Jawbone from Judges 15:15. We’re going to use Social Media to sow the seeds of this awakening. People don’t know the danger that they’re in because they aren’t being told. We’re going to do everything we can to tell them.
The Lord Jesus Christ
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
(Romans 13:14) KJV
How do you order your life so that you can have the armour of light? There are some passages of scripture that we can ponder as we work through this question.
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
(2 Corinthians 6:14) KJV
Who are you spending you time with? What are you reading? What are you watching? Start with that. Pay attention. Be awake.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
(Ephesians 5:11) KJV
How are you going to carry out this command if you’re promoting supposedly Christian beliefs that don’t include hell or the consequences of sin?
Hell is Real

We’re laying out an explanation of physical evidence and empirical observations from the Earth below by which we can deduce that the expansion of hell, as the cause of global warming, is a predictive testable hypothesis based on ocean water warming data. The location and size of hell are confirmed by seismological data.
Heaven is Real

We can show you how a Biblical theory of gravity makes it possible for the Earth to be about 6,000 years old, while the remote regions of the cosmos are a minimum of 2.19 billion years old, and probably much older. We’ve accounted for the missing mass of the universe by having a firmament which confirms the validity of all physical laws.
Walk in the Light
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
(1 John 1:5-7) KJV
Are you going to call yourself a Christian and deny that hell is real? Can you be a Christian while capitulating with SciPop to believe in a universe with no heaven?
On one hand you could be a Christian and then believe whatever you want, right? That’s to say that, once you accept Jesus Christ as your savior, the details don’t really matter. However, if you’re born again then you should show evidence of it by desiring a close fellowship with God through the Holy Spirit. That’s when you want to cast off the unfruitful works of darkness, but, you have to know what the works of darkness are in order to cast them off.
Nothing is more frustrating than Pastors of churches who abdicate their responsibility by saying things like, “Well, I’m not a scientist, so I don’t know about that.” If SciPop is a work of darkness, but you don’t understand it, how can you cast if off? Pastors, your flocks are being ravaged by wolves. Wake up.
Salvation
- Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
- believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
- confess your sin.
