It’s an accepted belief in mainstream science (SciPop) that, at some time in the past, all of the continents were part of one super-continent. Pangaea.

Pangaea was a contiguous landmass but it may have had an ocean which became the Mediterranean sea, the coasts of which became the cradle of civilization.
