Hydroxyl (OH–)
Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil,
(Isaiah 1:16) ESV
Chemically, Hydroxyl (OH) is a cleaning agent. Cleansing goes with the concepts of purification, refinement and sanctification. For what purpose was Jesus Christ begotten? Our cleansing.
and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a proof to them.”
(Mark 1:44) ESV
We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) have frequently heard it said that the Bible isn’t a science book. Many of the people who say this are Christians. We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) disagree.
Superficially it appears that “science” and the Bible are completely different and, since “science” made iPhones and Mars rovers, “science” must be right therefore the Bible can’t be. The overwhelming success of technology (applied science) is the cloak under which THE NARRATIVE (theoretical science) has developed. A prevailing attitude about “science” is: “It works so it must be true.”
Against this backdrop theologians have worked to find ways for Christians to believe some of the Bible while not contradicting “science” and making themselves look stupid. Of course, some Christians deny “science” and look stupid, while believing the parts of the Bible that the theologians said were okay because of “science.” It’s a mess.
Theologians have examined the Bible to see which parts are congruent with the mainstream science paradigm (SciPop) and decided that it’s okay to believe those parts. Unfortunately SciPop is a pseudo-scientific rationalization of the premise that there’s no God and that the Bible is stupid. Therefore the Christian scientific education organizations AIG, CMI and ICR are examples of the blind leading the blind.
On the other hand, we examine SciPop to see what parts are congruent with the Biblical paradigm. This has lead us to conclude that what you call “science” is really a mixture of two things:
- Applied (truth)
- there’s a real, practical application of science which makes iPhones and Mars rovers,
- Theoretical (error)
- but there’s also an imaginary application with the express purpose of making it look like God is impossible. This is mainstream science (SciPop).
What is a fact?
How can we tell the difference between science and SciPop? We have to know what the facts are. So what is a fact? A fact is something which is true regardless of what you believe about science or the Bible. Atoms and molecules are an example.
A fact is a : something that has actual existence, b : an actual occurrence.
– Fact, definition (Merriam-Webster)
There’s no debate between atheists and Christians over whether or not matter is made of atoms. Everyone agrees on it. It can be taken as fact. In contrast any time you hear someone in the mainstream media refer to a “scientific fact” they either don’t have a clue what they’re talking about or they’re deliberately lying.
A scientific fact is : anything that peer review wants you to believe, even though it may be pure speculation; a strategic data point in the mainstream science narrative of godless existence (SciPop); a minor deity in the atheist pantheon; the subject of a lot of special pleading.
– Scientific Fact, definition
Let’s consider evolution. What you call evolution is a mixture of two things:
- Applied (truth)
- Evolution is an extensively documented process of genetic change over time.
- The experimental evidence for it is truly monumental,
- it’s easily accommodated in any paradigm.
- It’s the process of genetic decay by which the animals saved on Noah’s ark gave rise to the current distribution of biodiversity.
- Therefore the process of evolution is a fact.
- Evolution is an extensively documented process of genetic change over time.
- Theoretical (error)
- The evolutionary origin of humanity is only true in mainstream science (SciPop).
- Therefore the theory of evolution isn’t a fact.
So, in summary, the Bible is meticulously scientific, you just didn’t realize it. As a demonstration we’re going to tie the chemical properties of Hydroxyl (OH) with the plan of redemption and the broad narrative of scripture. Just so that we’re clear, the hydroxyl radical (•OH) is the neutral form of the hydroxide ion (OH−). Roughly speaking hydroxyl and hydroxide are referring to the same thing.
Purification, Sanctification, Refinement & Cleansing
So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you and purify yourselves and change your garments.
(Genesis 35:2) ESV
- A word often used in the Bible for purify is sanctify or sanctification.
- A word used for the process of purification, or the refinement that applies to precious metals, is tried.
- When the process of purification is applied to people it’s referred to as cleansing.
Given that we have deduced the chemical nature of God the Son to be the Hydroxide ion (OH–) which was begotten from the elemental spirits Alpha (H+) and Omega (O2-) it looks like God is, among other things, a chemist. Now this isn’t an abstract notion which is the product of convenient logic. We have a way to tie particle physics to chemistry. In so doing we develop Hypotheses 23.
