Heavy Rainfall and Aridity

And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry. And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried.

(Genesis 8:13-14) NKJV

If the rocks of the Devonian tell a tale of the world being flooded and then drying out, why are we surprised?

When the veil has been lifted this is one of those things that makes you scratch your head and wonder, “you have got to be kidding me.”

Popular science (SciPop) depends on extreme conceptual blindness which traces its root to the so called “enlightenment” when humanity was plunged into spiritual darkness. It manifests today as a failure to accept the relationship between cause and effect. A tragic outcome is called a reprobate mind. However, this isn’t some scheme of the devil to fool the world, it’s God’s will. It’s referred to as a strong delusion in Thessalonians 2:9-12.

Sedimentary rocks contain the clues of their own origin and formation. If the rocks look like the remains of natural communities which have been smashed and buried in a flood which then dried out, then that’s probably what happened.

If we can believe that any part of the Bible is true, then we can believe that all of the Bible is true. Noah’s flood is in the Bible because it’s something which happened. If it happened like the Bible says, then there’s going to be evidence of a global flood which dried up. Fortunately the evidence has been cataloged and described by SciPop as the stratigraphic column, Cambrian through Quaternary. The evidence meets our expectations. Both the Bible and the evidence agree on a worldwide flood. Our hypothesis has a positive result. Now we can expand the scope of our beliefs.

Hell is in the Bible because hell is a place in time and space. If we can believe that hell is at the center of the Earth then we can take hold of the solution to one of creationism’s most vexing problems: nuclear decay rates. If nuclear decay is governed by the half-life rate law then the Earth is 4.6 billion years old. If application of the half-life rate law to nuclear decay is an unwarranted assumption then the Earth is 6,000 years old. The problem for creationist has been: if all nuclear decay has taken place within the last 6,000 years, then the heat generated would be enough to melt the surface of the Earth.

Here’s how hell solves that: If the Earth formed around a gravitational singularity then most of the high atomic weight elements were concentrated in the core, they weren’t evenly distributed throughout the crust. When God cursed the Earth at the fall of man nuclear decay began, and the explosive burst of exponential decay caused the core of the Earth to melt. Basically, if hell is at the center of the Earth then it can be 6,000 years old.

Hopefully Christian leadership will cotton on and catch up. But right now the situation is getting dire. Christians, led by AiG, CMI and ICR, are capitulating with SciPop and promoting a model of the Earth’s interior which doesn’t have hell. As a result they have to compromise and accept an ancient Earth timescale because they have no effective defense against radiometric dating.

Thankfully this illustrates the beauty of the gospel. The only thing necessary for salvation is: to believe in Jesus Christ and confess your sin. Beyond that there’s no requirement for us to believe any particular doctrine. You can be a Christian and you don’t have to believe a word we say.
