(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
(2 Corinthians 10:4-5) KJV
The popular science (SciPop) rationalization for the liquid outer core is an ephemeral strand of wispy logic. It predates Stephen Hawking but it’s an example of the Hawking Effect. All it has to do is sound plausible.
The Scientific Method Post Hawking
- If it’s plausible it’s possible.
- If it’s possible it happened.
- It has to have happened because we exist.
- The chances of us existing are so remotely tiny that our existence proves our hypothesis (whatever it is).
The seismology doesn’t tell us what the nature of the material is which is in the zone designated as outer core/great gulf. It’s a more tenuous connection than that. It’s based on the fact that the Earth has an electric charge, or dipole moment, and it’s related to Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction.
Faraday’s law of induction (briefly, Faraday’s law) is a basic law of electromagnetism predicting how a magnetic field will interact with an electric circuit to produce an electromotive force (EMF)—a phenomenon known as electromagnetic induction. It is the fundamental operating principle of transformers, inductors, and many types of electrical motors, generators and solenoids.
– Faraday’s law of induction (Wikipedia)
The idea is that the core (inner or outer) of the Earth is iron-rich which is why the Earth has a magnetic field. Faraday’s law tells us that motion in a magnetic field causes an electron motive force (electrical field). We can measure the electrical field of the Earth (dipole moment) and so therefore something inside the Earth must be moving.
What’s moving? In SciPop the liquid outer core is in motion. In Matty’s Paradigm the molten inner core is in motion. It’s not conclusive evidence of anything.
As you can imagine SciPop has had to go down a rabbit hole to find anything at all which can seem to support the idea that there’s no hell, but it did it by grasping another ephemeral strand of wispy logic: Newton’s law of universal gravitation.

July 14th – Torment in Flames
Hell (sheol or hades) refers broadly to the underworld realm of the dead and encompasses all of its levels. However, there are times when the context makes it clear that these words refer to a specific level.
