Wormwood

The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the water, because it had been made bitter.

(Revelation 8:10-11) ESV

Gall is an example of something which can be used to express either cause or effect. Bible passages that refer to the water of gall sometimes connect the concept to something called wormwood.

Water of gall and wormwood are related in the sense that adding wormwood to water will make it bitter (water of gall). The source of wormwood may be gall, in its causal behavioral form, or an external physical agent as in the passage above.

Wormwood is a meteorite that will impact the Earth and pollute the rivers and streams during the tribulation. We’ve suggested that it’s presently in orbit around the sun and we know it as the planet Mercury. It would make sense that, during the process of creation on the fourth day, a large quantity of pollutants accumulated as a result of the need to create the sun which is, as far as we know, an extremely high concentration of Hydrogen. Pulling this much hydrogen together into one place is going to leave a lot of other compounds, like Carbon, Nitrogen and Sulfur, without any Hydrogen to bind them into more harmless forms. In the ordering of creation the toxic compounds left after creating the sun, moon and stars were made into a planet. At the end of time this is going to crash to the Earth and pollute our rivers and streams. This is gall as a consequence or effect.

We realize that we’re getting ahead of ourselves by introducing ideas that aren’t technically on the schedule until April or November, but that’s what happens when water’s involved. It gets everywhere. That’s why in Bible study we have to know the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end, we can’t make sense of the middle by itself.

January 13th – Water of Gall

Water is the physical medium in which cause and effect are linked, it’s the essence of free will.
