Once Offered
so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
(Hebrews 9:28) ESV
If Christ became sin for us when God said “let light be” and the lamb was slain from the foundation of the world, but then Christ died on the cross at Calvary, was he once or twice offered?
Does this contradict the statement that Christ was ONCE offered? NO. The sacrificial death on the cross of Jesus of Nazareth and the slaying of the lamb at the foundation of the world aren’t separate events which contradict Hebrews 9:28. The crucifixion is the fulfillment of the original purpose for which the creation was made, given symbolically, so that the meaning would be understandable to a world before the knowledge of particle physics.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.
– Matty’s Razor
This is the reason why salvation is through the name of Jesus Christ and none other: no one else has ever paid the price for our redemption. The sacrifice, slaying the lamb from the foundation of the world, made creation possible. The symbolism, a sacrifice made for our propitiation, was given us by Jesus of Nazareth. They are both the Son of God.
Atheist science trolls (ASTs) love to point out supposed contradictions in scripture because, they believe, it gives them the excuse that they think that they need to be able to dismiss God and not have to worry about judgement. It’s ironic that atheists are more theocentric than most Christians as a result. It’s part of the reasoning behind the conclusion we (that’s me and the Holy spirit) deduced that atheism is proof of God.
Atheism is Proof of God
- A[theism] can’t exist without -[theism].
- You can’t deny a God who doesn’t exist.
- Therefore, atheism is proof of God.
Faith is believing in something that you can’t see, because of evidence.
– Faith, definition
Be that as it may it’s always good practice for us to learn how to respond by making sure that we have our ducks in a row, our “I”s are dotted and our “T”s are crossed. We’ll lay out the logic of resolving the Holy Trinity with particle physics, nucleosynthesis, and see how the lamb slain from the foundation of the world was once offered.
Our premise is, as always, God can’t lie and the Bible is true. This being the case, it should be possible for us to show how the Bible can account for all physical evidence and empirical observations. If the Holy Trinity and particle physics can be resolved, then at very least it should account for all of the matter in the universe. This brings us to the quaint notion that in the popular science paradigm, 90% of your mass is missing.
