Foursquare 2.0
And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
(Revelation 21:15-17) KJV
1+1 = 2 is math, but it is also logical. It’s an example of cause and effect. The cause (1+1) produces the effect (2). God established the relationship between cause and effect when the Son, Jesus Christ, was begotten.
We, that’s me and the Holy spirit, have had some very odd conversations during the course of our time debating on Social Media. One of the oddest was being attacked with the demand that God is not logical. Supposedly, God defies all logic.
That seems rather odd because it appears to us that God is the source of logic. What is logic? Could it not be said that logic is the relationship between cause and effect? If, then, therefore. Those are the steps in the progression of a logical argument. Each step is related to the next by cause and effect. The ultimate expression of this is God describing himself as Alpha and Omega, two distinct elemental spirits, Elohim, which, when combined, begat the Son.
First Cause and Effect
- IF Alpha, male, God the father
- AND Omega, female, God the Holy Spirit
- THEN Alpha and Omega, neuter, the only begotten, God the Son, Jesus Christ
Bringing forth the Son and forming the Holy Trinity established the relationship between cause and effect, and this is the very essence of logic. Or is that just a bunch of SciFi mumbo-jumbo? Why on Earth would God be bound by the rules of logic? Because God had to establish the rules of logic in order to create the Earth. Cause and effect.
In the early days of Matty’s Paradigm we wrote a post which snarkily referred to IF, THEN and THEREFORE as deities in the scientific trinity. After careful consideration and by following the natural course of deductive reasoning we have to conclude that these aren’t just cynical gods of SciPop, these are aspects of the Trinity, Almighty God.
