All Manner of Precious Stones
And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones.
(Revelation 21:19) KJV
And the foundations of the wall of the city were layers of crystalline material arranged in order.
(Revelation 21:19) Paraphrased
Meaning comes from context. For example the phrase “were garnished” in Revelation 21:19. One meaning could be: the wall of the city had foundations, and the foundations had been decorated with precious stones.
That may be fine for most people, but in Matty’s Paradigm we, that’s me and the Holy spirit, have a context which includes a crystalline firmament with a layered structure which formed when gravity was created on the second day. It’s part of our core accretion model of planet formation (Hypothesis 1) which has been applied to the formation of the firmament, a sphere of rigid crystal on the edge of space. As such, we need to look at all the meaning of the word κοσμέω to see if it’s consistent with this narrative.
This highlights something that’s important in the interpretation of scripture. Taking one verse that you think means something and making a doctrine out of it is a way to get into a heap of trouble. However, an interpretation of the whole Bible that fits a broad narrative, is logical, accounts for all evidence, and explains WHY God created the universe, is going to be right more often than not.
