Worlds in Collision

"Worlds in Collision" is the title of a book by Immanuel Velikovsky in which he proposes, among other things, that the plagues of the Exodus were caused by successive close approaches to Earth by the planet Venus.

The planet Venus may have been the source of some of the plagues of the Exodus: rivers and streams turning into blood, a rain of hail mingled with fire, and impenetrable darkness where people couldn't see their hands in front of their faces.
