It would appear that "the foundations of heaven" and "the foundations of the wall of the city" are the same thing. Are the firmament and the foundations of heaven the same thing?

Christian leadership is fighting a loosing battle to stay in control of everything from political power to reproductive rights. They haven't realized that they're fighting for a way of life which is becoming illegal.

According to the context of our verse the open firmament is where birds fly, so it's the atmosphere or sky. We can consider it to be the first of three heavens.
