God could have just left us in hell, but sent his only begotten Son to die on the cross at Calvary so that we may have a better outcome.
Hell is Darkness, Heaven is Light
Creation has a purpose which combines the spiritual goal of separating good from evil with the physics of separating light from darkness. It gives us a unified theory of everything within the broad narrative of scripture.
Direction of Motion
The direction of motion is a clue that we've used to put all of the puzzle pieces together. We could induce a meaning to a passage, or we could compare it to our model and deduce that the pit is lower than the grave.
Down to the Pit, The Lowest Hell
It's been possible to parse the difference in nuance between the various words used to refer to the afterlife, which corresponds to the interior of the Earth, because we have an absolute frame of reference.
Hell is Below, Heaven is Above
Hell is down, deep and below; heaven is up, high and above. There are many examples in scripture which are consistent with this orientation. Hell is never referred to as above, heaven is never referred to as below.
Hell is a Destination for Souls
We (that's me and the Holy spirit) have made an extensive study of how the zones of the interior of the Earth, or levels of hell, may be deduced from Biblical Hebrew and Greek.
July 8th
The reason for hell is: the temporary storage of the accumulated impurity and corruption which is inherent in creation. It's required for the purification of creation.
