The Reason for Hell
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
(Psalm 16:10) KJV
The reason for hell is: the temporary storage of the accumulated impurity and corruption which is inherent in creation. It’s a consequence of the creation of gravity, and it’s required for the purification of creation.
The Bible talks about hell as if it’s real. We (all of us) have physical evidence in the form of seismological and ocean water warming data which also indicate that hell is real. Can we combine these elements in a doctrine of hell which is compatible with a benevolent loving God?
We must have a reason for hell deduced from the purpose of creation, which is is to bring about the permanent physical separation of light from darkness, day from night, good from evil. As such, the reason for hell has to have several components which are in harmony with physical evidence and the broad narrative of scripture.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.

Hell is a Destination for Souls
He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword. Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.
(Job 33:18, 22) KJV
Both pit and grave translate the same Hebrew word šā·ḥaṯ – שָׁ֑חַת. The pit refers to the interior of the Earth. We’ve made an extensive study of how the zones of the interior of the Earth, or levels of hell, may be deduced from Biblical Hebrew and Greek.
Levels of Hell
Grave (sheol) Pit (sahat/bowr) | Earth (erets) | World (tebel)
Crust | sheol | erets | tebel |
Mantle | mibbeten sheol tavek sheol yerekah bowr | tachti erets erets tachti | mowcadah tebel |
Great Gulf (outer core) | bad sheol | erets beriach matsuq erets mayim tachath erets
Core (inner core) | sheol tachti tachti erets bowr, shachath missahat beli | mowcadar erets |
Faith is believing in something that you can’t see, because of evidence.
– Faith, definition
We’ve also been meticulous in distinguishing between the soul and spirit so that we can be sure that our concepts and our context are congruent.
A soul is a gravity node with a frequency unique to each individual, it encompasses the scriptural concepts of mind and heart:
– Soul, definition
– mind: the seat of our consciousness and personality;
– heart: the emotions and passion which drive and motivate us.
Our soul makes us sentient.
The Spirit is a vapor, Oxygen, which binds with the hemoglobin molecule in red blood cells to animate a body through metabolic processes. The spirit/body entity serves as the host or tabernacle for a soul.
– Spirit, definition
In terms of physics hell is a giant ball of molten radioactive slag which has accumulated around the gravitational singularity at the center of the Earth. Souls are gravity nodes. There’s nothing to stop a soul from going to hell after the death of the host body except faith in Jesus Christ, which is the power to overcome the gravitational attraction of hell (Mosaic gravity).
The reason for creation is the manifestation of sentient life with free will.
– The Reason for Creation
The question we want to answer is, does scripture support this model? We need to know, because Jesus made a point of warning us that hell is the destination of souls.
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
(Matthew 10:28) NKJV
