We Reap What We Sow

Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets:
“Behold, I will feed them with bitter food
and give them poisoned water to drink,
for from the prophets of Jerusalem
ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”

(Jeremiah 23:15) ESV

Reaping what we sow as bitter consequences for bad decisions is caused by misrepresenting God and leading people astray with false teachings. Jeremiah made this charge against false prophets in his time.

Let’s look at the chaos breaking out in parts of the world, the horror of war or the tragic circumstances that a large proportion of the world’s population are living in, then look at our education system and see what’s being taught. Truth is taught as something relative, individualized. Absolute truth is unscientific, so it can’t be taught. Can we see any connection? Are we brave enough to admit that our actions have led to this situation and now we are drinking the water of gall?

Are we surprised that people are turning their back on Christianity when there are Christian leaders who think that it’s their duty to support Donald Trump, and to sanction efforts to destroy the American government in the name of religious freedom?
