And God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” And God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so. And God called the expanse Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.

The second clue to deducing the creation of gravity is from Genesis 1:6-8. Now for the first time creation has an orientation. This theme continues throughout scripture. Under and above are synonyms for up and down.
You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
(Exodus 20:4) ESV
What can we understand if there’s now under and above, up and down, below and over, given our context of a change from formless to formed?
