Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
(Exodus 3:1) KJV
The paleoenvironments of the periods of geological history that we’re seen so far include a statement about climate as a way to rationalize why so much sediment would be eroded, transported and deposited.
The description of the Triassic is subtly different because it doesn’t include a veiled reference to the Noachian deluge. Instead it’s a clear statement that the sediments preserve the remains of a savanna ecosystem. The Bible doesn’t have a whole lot of paleoenvironmental clues so the number of verses we have to choose from is limited. The backside of the desert is probably as close as we’re going to get.

August 14th – Triassic
The Triassic is an ecosystem, not a period of time. It was buried in Noah’s flood.
