We All Love a Hero

Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil has come up before me.” But Jonah rose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord.

We went off on a bit of a tangent today as we drew a comparison between popular science (SciPop) and science fiction (SciFi). It was apt. That being said we’re huge SciFi fans and we spent may years writing trash in the hope that one day we would have a novel on the New York Times bestsellers list.

On a pilgrimage to Ethiopia in 2013 we received our call to write what has become Matty’s Paradigm, but at the time we were horrified by the scope of the task before us and the intellectual discipline that would be necessary to get it done. We wasted another couple of years trying to breath life into Biblio’s Blood.

You know the problem with dead things? They’re dead.

We’re thrilled to have made the progress we have so far with Matty’s Paradigm and we’re deeply thankful to the Lord for his patience with us. COVID-19 pandemic lock downs really aren’t so bad when you have a calling, a mission, and the tools to get the job done.

We’re still big time SciFi fans though. Catching up on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Daisy Johnson “Quake”. We all love a hero. The tragedy is that popular science (SciPop) has become a stumbling block for many, hindering them from turning to our our real savior, Jesus Christ.

We found these while we were looking for .GIFs today.

The earth’s best defender, two gods, a hulk, a super-soldier, two of the greatest warrior women in the world, a wizard, a witch, a guy in a borrowed flying suit, a guy with metal wings, spider-boy, a warrior king, the earth’s greatest artificial intelligence, a cybernetic super-soldier, two genetically engineered assessins, the smartest woman on the planet, two guys who kill stuff in space, an unkillable tree thing, a genetically modified racoon, several armies and three infinity stones were unable to defend the borders of the earth’s most technologically advanced country.

One Daisy Johnson saved the earth and the 7.6 billion people on it from total obliteration.

Time to consider reassigning the title of “Earth’s best defender”.
