Psalms 68:4, 33

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.

To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.

(Psalms 68:4, 33) KJV

Here are a couple of odd statements. Odd, that is, if you don’t understand the heavens as being a layered sheet of crystal like a sea of glass. A piece of which could be ridden on…

If you don’t like the idea of God or his agents traveling to and from on the Earth on cosmic surfboards, then you don’t like the idea of cosmic surfboards. However, whether you like it or not, that’s the place where we have deduced ourselves to.

On a more serious note, the presence of the firmament gives new meaning to the phrase “the windows of heaven” as being actual windows in an actual heaven, but maybe that’s the old meaning, not a new one.
