Psalms 18:9-13
He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet. And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire. The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.
Now we are able to unravel this confusing little mess.
- Bowing the heavens is possible if a section of the crystalline firmament is movable.
- The darkness is under His feet because the inner surface of the firmament is covered with something likened to sackcloth
- This would make darkness God’s secret place, from the perspective of us below.
- But there is still brightness round about him because of His glory and the brightness of the firmament, above the inner covering of sackcloth.
Do you see how many nagging scriptural issues having a firmament solves?
Not to mention it’s the missing 80% of the mass of the universe.
