Pliocene

The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.

(Isaiah 60:6) KJV

Deposition and lithification of sediment (Noah’s flood), had to be before the formation of mountains which are composed of the sediment (Peleg’s tectonics). That’s an acknowledgement of the relationship of cause and effect.

Paleobotany and the evolution of plants

We’re studying the periods of geological history as described by Wilson N. Stewart.

This was the text book we used in grad school when we studied for a masters of science in Biology.

PLIOCENE
Elevation of the Andes and general continued uplift of continents bringing about climatic changes in temperate latitudes that allowed spread of grasslands caused local restriction or extinction of some species. Mastodons, camels, horses, and cats.

– Wilson N. Stewart, Paleobotany and the evolution of plants.

Wilson N. Stewart gives us a description of the Pliocene Epoch in Paleobotany and the evolution of plants. It sounds a lot like an ecosystem that was buried in a world-wide flood. He’s also using this epoch to account for a major Southern hemisphere orogeny.

Orogeny means a process in which a section of the earth’s crust is folded and deformed by lateral compression to form a mountain range.

– Orogeny, defintion

If fossils of advanced species that are alive today are found fossilized in rocks at the top of mountains, then the mountains formed after the fossils were buried and it wasn’t very long ago. Today we’re going to double down on making the distinction between Noah’s flood and Peleg’s tectonics as different events which were separated by at least 100 years.
