The Cluelessness Event Horizon (CEH)
If a wise man contends with a foolish man, Whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace.(Proverbs 29:9) NKJV
There are times, especially during a passionate discussion on @Twitter, when we (that’s me and the Holy spirit) realize that the person who we’re arguing with doesn’t know what they’re talking about. They’re bluffing.
People on social media love to argue about subject matter that they don’t know anything about, it’s just a game to them, and they bluff their way through arguments. The problem with bluffing, though, is that you can only go for so long before you make a mistake and reveal that you’re actually clueless. Further discussion is pointless because the opponent has passed the cluelessness event horizon (CEH), from which there’s no coming back.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.– Matty’s Razor
The cluelessness event horizon is that moment in a conversation when it’s obvious that a troll is bluffing. The words and phrases they use make it clear that they don’t know what they’re talking about. People on Twitter believe that they can bluff their way out of it, but it’s already too late: they’ve passed the CEH.– Cluelessness Event Horizon (CEH), definition
Here are a few examples of typical Twitter exchanges which demonstrate the CEH. We’ve selected four of the main issues of debate. These are specific examples drawn from hundreds of similar exchanges. These same themes and others are repeated time and time again, but the newer folk coming up only know the rhetoric, they don’t know the science which underlies the opinion.
The supposed intellectual high ground of mainstream science (SciPip) has no knowledge base. We’re witnessing a mass migration across the CEH.
