The Lord spoke to me. โMortal man,โ he said, โyou are living among rebellious people. They have eyes, but they see nothing; they have ears, but they hear nothing, because they are rebellious.
Now, mortal man, pack a bundle just as a refugee would and start out before nightfall. Let everyone see you leaving and going to another place. Maybe those rebels will notice you.
(Ezekiel 12:3) GNT
We have an opportunity to demonstrate an object lesson. That ought to be a good thing, right?
We’re also continuing our series: Post Apocalyptic Barista Potential. A major disruption of life could happen to any one, any where, any time. How are you going to make a good cup of coffee when the power goes out?
The first issue is: how do you grind the beans? The solution we found: mortar and pestle.
Now we solve the issue of making the coffee: Old-style Espresso.
Now, in the earlier post we were assuming that we would be adapting to living in place and so weight wasn’t an issue. However, if we’re going to pack a bundle for exile, like Ezekiel, then we can’t add a lot of weight. Fortunately the old style espresso maker is lightweight and it fits into one of the pockets of our backpack, the said bundle.

Salvation
- Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
- believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
