Then the king commanded Ashpenaz, his chief eunuch, to bring some of the people of Israel, both of the royal family and of the nobility, youths without blemish, of good appearance and skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding learning, and competent to stand in the king’s palace, and to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans.(Daniel 1:3-4) ESV
When people hear the word “science” what they think it refers to turns out to be a combination of two things: 1) truth, and 2) error. What’s truth and what’s error? How can we know for sure?
Science makes iPhones and Mars rovers but it has a narrative of human origins which is different to the Bible. Based on our guiding principle, God can’t lie and the Bible true, we don’t have any problem with iPhones and Mars rovers (science) but the narrative of godless existence (popular science or SciPop) is obviously false.

O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge,” for by professing it some have swerved from the faith. Grace be with you.(1 Timothy 6:20-21) ESV
For this reason we have to discern the differences between science, knowledge of the one true God, vs. the popular science paradigm (SciPop), what is falsely called “knowledge.” An example of how we do this can be found in the post Isolating the Error in Popular Science.
