Earth is a Sphere
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;
(Isaiah 40:22) ESV
The Bible does NOT say that the Earth is flat. Not anywhere. The flat Earth insanity is what happens when you induce a rationalization of scripture to fit the premise of a flat Earth.
We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) believe that Bible study is a serious endeavor and it shouldn’t be taken lightly. We’re proposing that God created the universe from water not nothing, ex abyssi, and that He created gravity on the second day. This is a big deal. This breaks with every flavor of Christianity that has ever existed.
There’s a side effect to the creation of gravity that’s going to upset some people: if the Earth formed around a gravitational singularity then it’s spherical. It’s impossible for the Earth to be flat. This is spherical Earth deduction.
The reason why we’re doing this is because we arrived at these conclusions using deduction. Not only that, but this deduction is consistent with the broad narrative of scripture. This isn’t just a handful of Bible passages that we have imputed meaning to. This comes from understanding the purpose God has for creation, and deducing the physical process that allows God to fulfill this purpose.
God made creation so that we could exist with the free will to choose whether or not we want to have fellowship with Him in the next life. The only way to manifest free will was to create a system that was inherently flawed. The system is designed so that the flaws will be purified out of the creation by the time the next world is ready to be inhabited.
Gravity is the mechanism by which God will achieve this. The inception of gravity is compatible with God’s plan of redemption, it’s the physics through which redemption is possible. However, if you want to be redeemed then all you have to do is believe in Jesus Christ.
