The Truth is Unscientific
God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
(John 4:24) ESV
The scientific method is a philosophical contrivance designed to make finding the truth impossible. In a twist of irony, the scientific method may be used to demonstrate that the scientific method is a farce.
The way that scientific inquiry has been designed is that you can have a theory which is completely wrong so long as it’s based on a series of predictive testable hypotheses which have each been confirmed experimentally by multiple independent investigators.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.
– Matty’s Razor
Basically, you can weave together whatever experimental data you want to use (hypotheses) so long as your narrative is plausible (theory). That being said we can demonstrate how absurd the scientific method is by developing our own predictive testable hypotheses which we can use to build a scientific theory of creation. The one we started here grew into a unified theory of everything.
The scientific explanation of the origin of the universe is a mixture of truth (hypotheses) and error (theory) which has been woven into a false narrative of godless existence. This is what we commonly think of as science, but it’s known as popular science (SciPop). It’s an attempt to rationalize human existence in such a way that it’s not necessary to invoke a divine act or miracle by a creator. It’s designed to be a logical antidote to guilt. It doesn’t work on two counts:
- Among other things, 90% of the mass of the universe is missing, and
- We all still have guilt, no matter what we choose to believe.
People will protest the idea that SciPop is anti-god, because SciPop doesn’t care what you believe, it just is. That’s the point, SciPop can magnanimously allow you to believe in God within its godless paradigm. As far as SciPop’s concerned, God is an irrelevant optional extra.
Faith is believing in something that you can’t see, because of evidence.
– Faith, definition
People will protest the idea that SciPop is error because, well, it’s science. Science is based on facts, right? There’s a popular meme which says something like,
It doesn’t matter whether you believe science or not, it’s still true.
– Neil DeGrasse Tyson
This is load of dingo’s kidneys, and we’ll explain why. We love science so much that we want to show you that it can be used to glorify God.
