Truth is Light, Darkness is Evil
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
(Genesis 1:2) ESV
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
(Matthew 27:45) ESV
We make a connection between the darkness in Genesis 1:2 and the darkness that fell upon the world while Jesus hung on the cross. This is the sacrifice which had to be made to pay the price of our redemption, the propitiation.
Christ became sin for us, who knew no sin. However it’s more than our redemption, we had to exist first and then be lost, before we could be found. This is a way to illustrate pattern and process in creation.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.
– Matty’s Razor
Pattern
Thus it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
(Hebrews 9:23) ESV
Things on Earth are copied from things in the heavens. The darkness during the crucifixion symbolizes our separation from God because of sin. It pictures the state of creation immediately before God said let there be light.
This can be applied at the level of particle physics. Free will is as fundamental as nuclear decay. The point that we want to make is that light and dark are opposites, and God equates light with good, darkness with evil. We have now resolved this in terms of atoms and molecules. In order for darkness to exist, God had to go against His own nature. This was done through the incarnation of Jesus Christ.
Faith is believing in something that you can’t see, because of evidence.
– Faith, definition
Process
And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
(John 3:19-21) ESV
Given the fact that we have reconciled our knowledge of particle physics with Genesis 1:1-2 and shown the origin of the Hydrogen which will be used in nucleosynthesis, here’s some deduction for you to ponder:
Deductive Reasoning, examples
- IF God can’t lie,
- THEN the Bible is true.
- IF the Bible is true,
- THEN Jesus Christ is the living embodiment of truth,
- AND the Holy Spirit is its agent at work in the world today.
- IF popular science (SciPop) is an inductive rationalization of our existence which has
- no creator,
- no need of a savior,
- no spiritual realm,
- and questions the historical validity of Jesus Christ,
- THEN SciPop isn’t truth.
- IF popular science (SciPop) is an inductive rationalization of our existence which has
Salvation
- Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
- believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
- confess your sin.
We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
(John 9:4-5) ESV
