The Scientific Trinity

For there are three that bear record in Science, the IF, the THEN, and the THEREFORE: and these three are one.

Mainstream science (SciPop) is a faith-based religion and it has a god. Everything starts from IF. IF is the origin of the entire religion of SciPop. IF is a trinity with THEN and THEREFORE.

SciPop appears to be a precision-crafted answer to the question: how did we come to exist? This answer is vast and all-encompassing of the many fields and disciplines that contribute to it. Biology teaches us that all life is based on cellular construction. Biochemistry teaches us how cells are made and how they function. Chemistry teaches us where the components come from. Physics reveals for us the ultimate origin of all of the matter of which we are made. Astronomy puts this into a perspective that helps us to see that we are really nothing more than a fortunate accident. This then gives rise to an understanding of the processes by which the human race evolved.

The god of SciPop: IF

It’s beautiful. Elegant. Sublime. Yet the entire theoretical construct (paradigm)  is based on believing in the god of science. It’s name is “IF.” You must put your faith in IF.

IF is the beginning of logical reasoning where a statement of cause can be balanced with a statement of effect. The balance is achieved by another god of science: THEN. You can’t believe in IF and not THEN because they are dependent on each other. IF and THEN lead us to THEREFORE, the third part of the Science-god trinity.

We frequently refer to something called the Dominant Paradigm of Modern Science (DPMS) but it’s easier to refer to it as SciPop. This is the paradigm, based on faith in IF, which is THE NARRATIVE narrative of godless existence that permeates our modern world. It’s ubiquitous. Its attitude is: You may believe in god if you want to, but it’s not a causal factor and can be ignored.

SciPop is the scientific religion of IF. You’re a follower of IF, if you are willing to take these leaps of faith:
