Life on earth is sustained by energy from the sun. The sun is a ball of plasma and the plasma is a fusion of Hydrogen (H+). This isn't the only way in which life is sustained by energy from H+.

All Life is One
Our first Corollary is all life is one, but it has three Corollaries of its own. What is life? Life is dependent on water. Water's so fundamental to life that it becomes a challenge to be able to adequately describe it.
October 7th
All life is made from the same periodic table of elements, all life is dependent on water, and all life depends on energy from Hydrogen. Photosynthesis captures the energy of H+ fusing in the sun.

The soul is our consciousness and personality which dwells in a body that is animated by the spirit. A spirit from God, literally breath, gives life to our body by energizing metabolism through the action of the hemoglobin molecule.

Chlorophyll
Chlorophyll captures the energy from sunlight in a process called photosynthesis and produces Hydrogen (H+). It's a picture of the command that God gave to begin the process of forming organic life: let light be.
