As in all the churches of God’s people, the women should keep quiet in the meetings. They are not allowed to speak; as the Jewish Law says, they must not be in charge. If they want to find out about something, they should ask their husbands at home. It is a disgraceful thing for a woman to speak in a church meeting.
Or could it be that the word of God came from you? Or are you the only ones to whom it came? If anyone supposes he is God’s messenger or has a spiritual gift, he must realize that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command. But if he does not pay attention to this, pay no attention to him.
1 Corinthians 14:33b-38
How can I say that I’m a prophet, and then sit and listen to a woman teach and preach? This is an object lesson that we’re either:
- at the end of the age, or
- facing dispensational change.
If the only way for the church to survive is to become something which its own law forbids, then there has been a complete reversal of common sense. The natural order has been replaced by human ego. We’re so corrupt that we have engineered society’s laws in order to outlaw the church. As a result we’re looking at the end of human rule on Earth.

The mystery that works iniquity
Don’t you remember? I told you all this while I was with you. Yet there is something that keeps this from happening now, and you know what it is. At the proper time, then, the Wicked One will appear. The Mysterious Wickedness is already at work, but what is going to happen will not happen until the one who holds it back is taken out of the way. Then the Wicked One will be revealed, but when the Lord Jesus comes, he will kill him with the breath from his mouth and destroy him with his dazzling presence. The Wicked One will come with the power of Satan and perform all kinds of false miracles and wonders, and use every kind of wicked deceit on those who will perish. They will perish because they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved. And so God sends the power of error to work in them so that they believe what is false. The result is that all who have not believed the truth, but have taken pleasure in sin, will be condemned.

The Potter
The Lord said to me, โGo down to the potter’s house, where I will give you my message.โ So I went there and saw the potter working at his wheel. Whenever a piece of pottery turned out imperfect, he would take the clay and make it into something else.
Jeremiah 18:1-4
God can use us to make something new, but if you’re not sure then you need to remain steadfast in the faith tradition you were raised in.
The warnings come after the spells
Now, what does โhe went upโ mean? It means that first he came down to the lowest depths of the earth.+ So the one who came down is the same one who went up, above and beyond the heavens, to fill the whole universe with his presence. It was he who โgave gifts to peopleโ; he appointed some to be apostles, others to be prophets, others to be evangelists, others to be pastors and teachers. He did this to prepare all God’s people for the work of Christian service, in order to build up the body of Christ. And so we shall all come together to that oneness in our faith and in our knowledge of the Son of God; we shall become mature people, reaching to the very height of Christ’s full stature. Then we shall no longer be children, carried by the waves and blown about by every shifting wind of the teaching of deceitful people, who lead others into error by the tricks they invent. Instead, by speaking the truth in a spirit of love, we must grow up in every way to Christ, who is the head. Under his control all the different parts of the body fit together, and the whole body is held together by every joint with which it is provided. So when each separate part works as it should, the whole body grows and builds itself up through love.
