Gnashing of Teeth

But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

(Matthew 8:12) KJV

We’re making the case that hell is at the center of the Earth, it’s temporary, and eventually it will be disposed of in the furthest reaches of space referred to in the Bible as outer darkness.

We can connect the dots by using the phrase gnashing of teeth. In the passage above we see that the gnashing of teeth is taking place in outer darkness.

There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

(Luke 13:28) KJV

This passage places the gnashing of teeth in the context of the final judgement. By combining the context of these two passages we can say that gnashing teeth happens in outer darkness after the final judgement.

If the lake of fire is also in outer darkness, then it’s fair to say that the gnashing teeth is because the people gnashing their teeth are in the lake of fire, and that’s what we’re told in other passages which deal with the final judgement. This means that the everlasting fire is the lake of fire, not hell. This explains why hell has to be cast into the lake of fire.
