Dragon Taxonomy

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

(John 8:31-32) KJV

Rejoice in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and be set free. Let down your heavy burden and rest. Let’s worship the Lord, celebrate the beauty of His creation, and study dragons!

Believing the Bible is more wonderful than you can imagine, but you may regard the Bible as archaic, the deluded scrawl of Bronze Age goat herders who didn’t know where the sun went at night. That’s just what Satan wants you to think. His plan is that you’ll wake up in hell one day and it’ll be too late to do anything about it. Yes, hell is real.

We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.

Matty’s Razor

Hell is real and just about everyone everywhere has this nagging feeling that something isn’t right. For some it’s really bad, but for most folk who are moderately successful, living a moderate life and working to support their moderate families, life is busy and complicated but it’s all figured out. You play by the rules and everything is okay. You go to work, pick up the kids, donate to charity, and life is what is it. So why is it bothering you?

Why are we in love with fantasy fiction like Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings,” or Martin’s “Game of Thrones?” Why are we fans of the SciFi reality of Star Trek, where humanity has solved all of its problems and is now boldly going to solve everyone else’s?

Escapism. The nagging feeling doesn’t have to be dealt with If we are constantly distracted. Entertainment, the most addictive drug to ever blindside the FDA. Take your pick on distractions: stress is a good one; being busy; exercise, doing sports, drugs, alcohol; sex; the list goes on.

What if you could combine the things you love in your distracting escapism AND deal with the nagging feeling at the back of your mind? What if you could come to know the living God and have absolute assurance that you are going to inherit everlasting life, all while satisfying your intellectual cravings?

What if the former distraction of the Game of Thrones dragons could become a way in which you come into a more intimate fellowship with our creator? What if you could have peace in your heart and learn about the taxonomy of dragons because they really did exist and they are part of the history of our world?

Faith is believing in something that you can’t see, because of evidence.

Salvation

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

(Ephesians 2:8-9) KJV

We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) don’t have a nagging feeling that something is wrong because we know exactly what’s wrong: hell is real. We’re going to get to the science of it in July, but be aware that all of the mainstream science (SciPop) reasons why hell can’t be at the center of the Earth are contrived. Can math prove there’s no hell? No. It can’t.

The beauty is that we don’t have to worry about hell because we’re going to be with God in heaven either when Jesus returns or when we die. We have joy in life because we’re saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

The thing that adds richness to the indescribable joy of knowing that we have eternal life in Jesus Christ is that we’re going to discuss dragon taxonomy, and it’s not escapism.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

(Matthew 11:28-30) KJV

Today’s image is a beautiful picture. However, it’s intentionally deceptive. It depicts two Pteranodons flying over the Grand Canyon. Here’s the thing: there was no Grand canyon when Pteranodons flew. Pteranodons were buried in the same event which deposited the Grand Canyon sediments: Noah’s Flood.

Salvation

  1. Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
    • believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
