The earth is at the center of the observable universe. This is an empirical observation. Heliocentricity is not observed, it is theoretical. Oddly enough, people today simply cannot grasp this concept.

The Geometry of Despair

A visual history of the expanding Universe includes the hot, dense state known as the Big Bang and the growth and formation of structure subsequently. The full suite of data, including the observations of the light elements and the cosmic microwave background, leaves only the Big Bang as a valid explanation for all we see. (Credit: NASA/CXC/M. Measurable parallax would be proof that the Earth isn't at the center of God's creation in which case the issue of whether or not God created it has new significance. Unfortunately Galileo couldn't find any parallax.
