Thermodynamic Weather Systems
“Make the people sit down,” Jesus told them. (There was a lot of grass there.) So all the people sat down; there were about five thousand men. Jesus took the bread, gave thanks to God, and distributed it to the people who were sitting there. He did the same with the fish, and they all had as much as they wanted. When they were all full, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces left over; let us not waste a bit.” So they gathered them all and filled twelve baskets with the pieces left over from the five barley loaves which the people had eaten.

What did Jesus do to five barley loaves and two small fishes that would produce enough food to feed five thousand men? He used the first law of thermodynamics.
In Genesis 1:2 there was a body of water called the deep available, there was no need for God to create the universe from nothing. Did Jesus create bread and fish from nothing? Fortunately we have a fascinating clue.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.

When evening came, Jesus’ disciples went down to the lake, got into a boat, and went back across the lake toward Capernaum. Night came on, and Jesus still had not come to them. By then a strong wind was blowing and stirring up the water. The disciples had rowed about three or four miles when they saw Jesus walking on the water, coming near the boat, and they were terrified. “Don’t be afraid,” Jesus told them, “it is I!” Then they willingly took him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached land at the place they were heading for.

John Chapter 6 includes the miracle of Jesus causing food to materialize out of thin air, but it also goes on to describe Jesus walking on water (v. 16-21) during a tempest which arose shortly after the miracle.
It takes quite a few kilo joules of energy to feed 5,000 people, if Jesus used a form of nucleosynthesis to create food from the energy in his ambient environment then it’s reasonable to assume that the temperature in the region around the miracle dropped. The temperature drop necessary will be inversely proportional to the size of the area affected. A drop in temperature of this kind and over a large enough area would cause an area of low pressure to develop, which would drive other weather effects.

Predictive Testable Hypothesis 37
- IF Jesus took energy from his ambient environment and changed it into food for 5000 people,
- THEN the temperature would have dropped in the region,
- WHICH would result in the formation of an area of low pressure,
- AND potentially cause adverse weather effects,
- THEREFORE the next situation in the Bible should be a weather event.
It would seem that the temperature dropped by enough over a sufficient area to provide the energy necessary to feed 5,000 people, which caused a thermodynamic weather system to develop. There ought to have been, and the testimony of scripture is that there were, strong winds.
There was no need to create anything from nothing, energy was available in the environment. Jesus changed energy from one form to another according to the constraints of the first law of thermodynamics. Jesus demonstrated his power over matter and energy.
