The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

In the beginning the deep was formless. The subsequent account of creation shows how form and function go through several rounds of increasing order and complexity. The first was to take on the form of a sphere.
In a gravitational field water forms a sphere. A sphere is a form. Before creation began the deep was without form. We can hypothesize that formless became spherical because of the way that water behaves on the International Space Station. It gives us a predictive testable hypothesis.

The ISS has 90% of the gravity that we have on the earth’s surface. Astronauts experience weightlessness, not zero-G, because they are in free-fall.

- IF the deep was formless,
- BUT in a gravitational field water forms a sphere,
- THEN on the 1st day (and before) the universe was a zero-G environment.
The problem that popular science (SciPop) has is that, even though its narrative is the Star Trek universe, all of its experimentation and testing has taken place within the gravitational field of Earth. An experiment in zero-G simply can’t be done.
Genesis 1:2 tells us that the deep was formless. In a gravitational field, like on the ISS, water forms a sphere. Spherical is a form.
Obviously science and physics are easy. However, can we deduce from the Bible that God created gravity? It’s at this time in the narrative that the Hebrew word taba occurs, meaning to sink down. This is how we deduce the idea that gravity was created on the second day, therefore there was no gravity before the second day.
