Dinosaurs in Babylon

And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwelling place for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.

(Jeremiah 51:37) KJV

Babylon became a dwelling place for dragons after it had no human inhabitants. Dragons, or dinosaurs as the case may be, don’t live in the same places as humans.

It has been estimated that Babylon was the largest city in the world c.โ€‰1770ย โ€“ c.โ€‰1670ย BC, and again c.โ€‰612ย โ€“ c.โ€‰320ย BC. It was perhaps the first city to reach a population above 200,000. Estimates for the maximum extent of its area range from 890 to 900 hectares (2,200 acres).

The remains of the city are in present-day Hillah, Babil Governorate, Iraq, about 85 kilometres (53ย mi) south of Baghdad, comprising a large tell of broken mud-brick buildings and debris.
