Liverworts, Fungi

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

(2 Thessalonians 2:3-4) NKJV

Liverworts, fungi” is inductive sleight-of-hand. Supposedly, Liverworts and fungi are at the low end of evolutionary development so, supposedly, their presence in the stratigraphic column indicates that a sediment is old.

Inductive reasoning (as opposed to deductive reasoning or abductive reasoning) is reasoning in which the premises are viewed as supplying strong evidence for the truth of the conclusion. While the conclusion of a deductive argument is certain, the truth of the conclusion of an inductive argument is probable, based upon the evidence given.

– Inductive Reasoning, definition (Wikipedia)

The problem is, liverworts and fungi are alive today and their distribution is world-wide. Therefore, their presence in the stratigraphic column means nothing. It’s a load of dingo’s kidneys. It also means that the stratigraphic column, a worldwide distribution of sediment which has been used as evidence for the geological timescale, has nothing to do with evolution.

You may decide that you don’t care or you don’t believe a word we’re saying. You can do that. Sadly, it may be the case that we aren’t going to lead an evangelistic revival. After all, we’ve been told about a great falling away that comes before the tribulation.

Evangelistic revival or tribulation? Take your pick. Do you want to write ICHABOD over the church door, lie down in a nice deep grave and wait for Jesus to return? Or do you want to help to save a billion souls from hell? You’re going to step up and believe that there is a hell first. Hell is expanding, it’s the cause of global warming.

If you’re a Christian who’s trying to resolve the Bible with the popular science narrative of godless existence (SciPop) then there is no hell, so what do people need to be saved from?
