Next Steps

And they said to me, โ€œThe survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.โ€

(Nehemiah 1:3) NKJV

We’re in a stable holding pattern. We have been for quite a while. We’re sufficiently disciplined these days as to be able to establish a schedule and stick to it. We’ve written everyday since November 1, 2017. No days off.

Sometimes we wish that something would happen and all of a sudden this would take off and life would go off on a new adventure. Mostly we’re thankful that things have worked out the way that they have.

We became a homeschool parent in March 2020 when COVID-19 closed the schools. We’re gearing up to homeschool for the whole fall semester starting Monday. The future may be the development of educational materials for school age children. We’re going to have to let the Lord lead us, we simply don’t know.

We’ve really appreciated the hard work that local churches are doing to provide devotional materials for everybody. Two Cities Church in Winston-Salem, NC has an excellent series on Nehemiah and rebuilding.

Rebuild: Lessons from the life and leadership of Nehemiah

The walls are broken down, the gates are destroyed, and it’s time to rebuildโ€ฆ.

The problem for us is that there’s no direct comparison. Nehemiah had a plan, support and resources. We have no plan, no support and no resources. There’s no point trying to model this ministry after Nehemiah. We’re just going to have to wait on the Lord. We’re going to keep doing the one thing that we know we’re supposed to be doing.

Then the LORD answered me and said: โ€œWrite the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.

(Habakkuk 2:2) NKJV

Salvation

  1. Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
    • believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
  2. confess your sin.
