The Trinity in the Beginning

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

(Acts 17:24) KJV

Theological commentaries, especially mainstream (liberal) ones, will happily tell you that there’s no actual statement of the doctrine of the Trinity in scripture. They want you to think that it’s something that the Church fathers cobbled together at one of their councils where they, supposedly, cobbled the Bible together.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

(Genesis 1:1-2) KJV

The thing is, if life is a trinity of body, soul and spirit, and things on Earth are patterned after things in the heavens, then the Holy Trinity occurs in Genesis 1:1-2 because the deep is the physical manifestation of God: His body.

this means that when the Bible does make a clear statement of the doctrine of the Trinity, such as in the great commission, then it’s talking about THE trinity who created the universe, not some concept which was voted on by a committee.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

(Matthew 28:19-20) KJV
