Since Noah's flood there's been a continual net loss of ice on Earth. What physical cause could lead to climate instability as we see in the Bible and which we're experiencing today?
The wind which God sent to evaporate the flood water caused rapid cooling and the formation of equatorial and polar ice. Evidence of equatorial glaciation is arbitrarily assigned to the Permian arbitrary time hack (ATH).
When the waters of the great deep burst forth they were met at the surface of Earth by the waters from above the firmament. This caused gigantic waves to propagate from the equator to the poles.
"Wooly mammoth and giant bisons". Mammoth and other creatures were preserved in ice which formed when the waters of Noah's flood evaporated. Evaporation causes cooling.
"Several advances and retreats of continental ice sheets, accompanied by some elevation of continents and draining of major synclines." There used to be an ice age 10,000 years ago, but THE NARRATIVE became murky and confusing.
When we say "ice age" we usually mean the one that ended about 10,000 years ago. In the popular science narrative (SciPop) this was the last of several retreats and advances of polar ice over the last 10,000-40,000 years.

Creationists don't seem to grasp the concept that Noah's flood and Peleg's tectonics are separate events, and they don't seem to have a coherent answer to the question: "where did the flood waters go?"
