God *could* have created a perfect world, and He *could* have made companions who were as pure as the matter which he *could* have made from nothing, but he didn't. He created a corrupted world from water.
Ex Nihilo vs. Ex Abyssi
The writer of Hebrews describes the creation of the universe as thermodynamically balanced. Apparently God created the universe from things which are invisible. We (that's me and the Holy spirit) propose atoms and molecules.
There was Never, Ever, Nothing
As strange as it may sound we have to overcome the ridiculous notion that God created the universe from nothing. Invisible isn't nothing it's unseen, like the air we breath. It's made of atoms and molecules like everything else.
Ex nihilo #EpicFail
If we take our outreach evangelism back to creation we're going to have to deal with the odd notion that God created the universe from nothing. It's referred to as Ex nihilo. It's neither Biblical nor is it physically possible.

There are two issues that help us to understand the reason for why we were created with free will and how this is even possible given the nature of God as pure and holy, not to mention omnipresent and omniscient.

It may sound odd to hear this, but a conclusion which we deduce by resolving the Holy Trinity with particle physics is that... ... there was never, ever, nothing.
