Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and with what he requires of you, and he will provide you with all these other things.
(Matthew 6:33) GNT
What on Earth could I say to encourage a young person right now? The rate at which the world is falling into chaos just accelerated. Believe in Jesus Christ and you will have everlasting life.
We, me and the Holy Spirit, have been dialing back on ponderous retrospectives. Contemplating the past can become a negative feedback loop as we seek to validate our failings. They serve a purpose: for me they’re usually intended as a way to buoy myself up through a slump of depression. The thing is, even I don’t like reading them anymore.
The one thing that I hope to express is that:
my life didn’t make sense until now, and now it makes perfect sense

A (brief) Ponderous Retrospective
This week in 2019 was a meticulously careful one. We needed guidance. We craved it. I say we referring to me and the Holy Spirit, but it’s the Holy Spirit who does the guiding.
It began with Monday being the worst day of our Uber career. $10.20 in over 6 hours. That’s pitiful. It’s certainly not sustainable. It drove us on to our knees to seek guidance from the Holy Spirit. We could only see as far as three specific tasks and we resolved to complete each one in the belief that subsequent steps would be revealed.
- Make a video of the most popular blog post in May.
- Go back to bed to have a dream.
- Meet with a Pastor to see what he wants to talk about.
Incidentally, that was Pastor Busybody, who accused me of being Simon the Sorceror.
2025
Now that it’s 2025 and I can see the world from my present vantage point: throughout all of the time during which I thought that I was wandering around in circles achieving nothing, God was making me ready for this moment.

Salvation
- Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
- believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
- confess your sin.
