And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.(Genesis 1:9-10) English Standard Version
God made the dry land appear on the third day. The dry ground is, obviously, the surface of the Earth. For our purposes the surface of the Earth is considered to be a feature of the crust.
Prepare slaughter for his sons because of the guilt of their fathers, lest they rise and possess the earth, and fill the face of the world with cities.(Isaiah 14:21) English Standard Version
Earth, as in planet Earth, is usually translated from the Hebrew erets. In contrast Isaiah refers to the surface of the Earth as the face of the world. World is translated from the Hebrew tebel and the nuance is that, rather than referring to planet Earth, it specifically refers to the part of the Earth which is inhabited: i.e. the surface.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.– Matty’s Razor
We spend the month of March deducing how the Hebrew words erets, sheol and tebel are modified. It turns out that they can be resolved into logical groupings which correspond to the 4 major regions of the interior of the Earth. We euphemistically call them the levels of hell, but this has no similarity to the way that they’re described in Dante’s Inferno.
