Wisdom

The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens;

(Proverbs 3:19) ESV

We once speculated that wisdom was a synonym for God the Son, the only begotten, Jesus Christ. However we found that wisdom has the properties of an elemental particle.

There’s more than one way to understand the Lord by wisdom founded the earth.

  1. On one hand the Lord had the wisdom necessary to know how to found the Earth,
  2. on the other hand the Earth is literally made out of wisdom.

So what is wisdom?

I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

(Proverbs 8:12, 22-23) KJV

Wisdom was in the beginning, but so was the Word who we equate with Jesus Christ.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.

(John 1:1-2) KJV

How can we tell one from the other?

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

(Genesis 1:1-2) KJV

First we have to look at context, both scriptural and physical. There was a body of water called the deep present before the process of creation began. The wisdom that was in the beginning is, naturally, the wisdom to cause the beginning. In the beginning was the Word, but in the beginning was also the deep.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

(James 1:5) KJV

What caused the deep, wisdom? The Word is God the Son who was begotten, the deep had to come from somewhere. The Word and the deep have to be the same thing.
