Mainstream Science (SciPop) is Broken
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
(Ezekiel 22:30) KJV
IF God can’t find a man to stand in the gap, but he sent prophets who completed their ministries, then the prophets weren’t sent to stand in the gap. They were sent to warn that there was a gap.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
(Romans 10:17) KJV
We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) believe that the only way to know what the Bible says, or doesn’t say, is to read it for yourself. We should also listen to the preaching, that’s how our faith grows, but preachers can only cover so much.
There’s something odd about the passage today. If the hedge is God’s protection around Israel, and the breaches in the hedge are Israel turning away into idolatry, surely the man who would stand in the gap would be any of the prophets whom God sent? Surely God sent them and they did their job so why can’t God find a man to stand in the gap? We have to use deduction:
- IF God can’t find a man to stand in the gap,
- AND he sent prophets who completed their ministries,
- THEN the prophets weren’t sent to stand in the gap.
- THEREFORE they were sent to warn that there was a gap.
So who should stand in the gap? Political leadership? In Israel this was the kings. We see throughout the time of the kings that there were good kings, and there were bad kings. The people went astray like sheep at every opportunity but a good king was able, on several occasions, to bring about revival and avert disaster. King Hezekiah is a good example: his contrition and humility before God in the face of an overwhelming enemy caused God to send an angel to destroy 185,000 men of the Assyrian army in one night.
What’s the significance for us? We’re making the outrageous claims that the last 700 years of mainstream science (SciPop) is a fabricated narrative of godless existence. If SciPop is the gap in the hedge that leaves the people exposed to mortal danger, do we have to fix SciPop? No. We have to warn you that it’s broken.
There’s a gap between what SciPop knows and what it doesn’t know. This gap has been filled with the tantalizing speculation that there’s no God, no judgment and no consequences for our actions. It’s best described as the Star Trek universe. You can choose to live in the gap but you’re at risk of waking up on the other side of eternity in hell. A literal hell of burning fire that you can’t escape. SciPop can’t disprove it, it’s just crafted a beautiful looking alternative to it.
O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me. For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily. Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
(Jeremiah 20:7-9) KJV
Is there anyone in the current generation of leaders in SciPop who will take heed to this warning? Probably not. Does that mean that we stop what we’re doing? No. Jeremiah tried to stop preaching. But the word of the Lord was like a burning fire in his bones which would not stop. Not preaching became more wearisome than preaching.
Salvation
- Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
- believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
- confess your sin.
