Most religions have a creed, catechisms or a statement of faith. Popular Science (SciPop) is no different. Most of SciPop is theoretical and, since theory is the scientific word for faith, believing in a theory is a leap of faith.
Science vs. Religion?
A lot of people seem to think, because they've been told, that science and religion are opposites. The problem goes back to what people believe that science is, because religion, for the most part, is irrelevant.
Faith vs. Sight
Faith and sight are opposites, like light and darkness, good and evil. When you have one you don't need the other, and vice versa. We also use them as concepts in a unified theory of everything.
Theoretical Melt Down
We've found that the previous theory about the internal structure of Earth was induced, but no body knew any better so it was OK. We were in a state of blissful ignorance, assuming that ignorance was knowledge.
Bending the Truth
If P-waves (sound waves) travel in straight lines then why are the lines depicting their paths through the interior of the Earth curved in the popular science interpretation of data from seismic waves (SciPop)?
The Great Gulf P-wave Shadow
The popular science "liquid outer core" is speculative at best, and there is no reason why it can't be open space. The P-wave shadow zone is the great gulf of which Jesus spoke in Luke 16:26.
Empirical Parrots
Scientifically illiterate science worshipers (SISWs) frequently tout the importance of empirical evidence. They squawk the phrase "empirical evidence" like parrots squawking "pieces of eight, pieces of eight".Scientifically illiterate science worshipers (SISWs) frequently tout the importance of empirical evidence. They use the phrase like parrots squawking "pieces of eight, pieces of eight."
Theoretical vs. Empirical
Theoretical and empirical are opposites, like dark and light. Empirical means verified by direct observation. Theoretical can't be seen, it's what we hope for, which is why we became a scientist.
A Universal Language
People think that math is real. That's because its use in engineering and medicine produces a beneficial result. There's another side to math which is theoretical. Theoretical means imaginary.

The fact that Earth is at the center of the observable universe is empirical. The problem is, does anyone know what empirical means? Here are some definitions.
